Active, passive or vehicle use?

  • Active subwoofers have built-in amplification; confirm their power supply and audio input.
  • Passive subwoofers require a compatible amplifier. Match impedance and rated power before connecting.
  • The 12V car model is intended for vehicle audio. Do not treat it as a mains-powered home subwoofer.

A subwoofer provides bass support; suitable main speakers are needed for full-range audio. Confirm package contents rather than assuming a 2.1 label includes satellite speakers.
